Amy and Jo Never Fight Over Laurie In The Novel (why they do that in the films)

The made-up fight between Jo and Amy over Laurie is the most stupid thing Little Women filmmakers have ever come up with. None of that exists in the book. It seems to be an excuse not to handle Laurie´s (at times toxic) behaviour just so Jo can have the handsome guy so that they don´t need to marry her to Friedrich who she in the book genuinely loves and admires.

Laurie is also partially based on LMA´s ex, which makes the whole scenario even more disturbing.
